Patrick Swayze Dead Aged 57

September 15th 2009 00:37

It seems that deaths of celebrities are becoming a regular occurence.

I have just heard that Dirty Dancing and Ghost star Patrick Swayze has succumbed to his long battle with cancer.

AP reports Swayze had been working hard since his cancer fight was revealed to the public. He starred in drama series The Beast, and he and his wife had been working on a memoir.

In January this year, Swayze spoke of his fear as he battled pancreatic cancer.

"Yeah, I'm scared. Yeah, I'm angry. Yeah, I'm (asking), 'Why me?,"' he told American TV's Barbara Walters in an interview.

"You can bet that I'm going through hell, and I've only seen the beginning of it."

What is so shocking for me is that my co workers were only just discussing his pending death this morning and when a crow appeared on the window someone mentioned this was a sign of death - superstitious or not, it's freaky.

Swayze leaves behind wife Lisa Niemi, who has been married to for 34 years. Swayze met Niemi when he was 18 and she was 14, taking dance lessons from Swayze's mum. Swayze and Niemi have no children.
