Star of the teen hit movie High School Musical, Vanessa Hudgens, has come under attack after a photo of her standing naked infront of a camera surfaced on the web.

The 18 year old, who is dating co star Zac Efron (Hair Spray), has apologised to her fans in a statement issued on Friday, "I want to apologise to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me..... i am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends".

Walt Disney studio, whose target audience is teenagers, is sticking by Vanessa and said the photo will not affect their decision to cast her in the third High School Musical.

Aziza - feel kinda sorry for poor Vanessa. Who stands naked getting photo's taken of themselves????

At least, in this day and age, a naked photo is nothing. At least not when Paris and co are making videos

Kylie - my understanding of this is that it was taken for her boyfriend Zac Efron. From what i have seen of the photo (face only), she was enjoying it.
News circulating today suggests that she did something similiar 2 years ago and sent the photo to her co star.
She could be a serial offender but you right, i don't think she is a Paris in the making.

DEBATABLE CONVERSATIONS...

You know what, after sitting thinking about things for a bit, I realised that this is really such a non-issue - i mean, we've seen nudy bits before, fanny's, bums, boobs abound all over the net, in mags, most definately in our imaginations. I guess the big thing here is that it is once again, a celebrity.......

..but really, if you're a celeb, and you pose nude - in this day and age you GOTTA know of the very real possibility that one day, whether in the very near future or in a time far far away from now - THEY WILL RE SURFACE!!

surely it's about the publicity - and IT ALWAYS WORKS...
attention - good or bad - is attention........

You right Kerryn but i also think alot has to do with the fact that she is a 'Disney' star, a role model for the young generation. It takes away the innocence of the character she plays.

It is so much more because of her audience (young children, teens) that this issue was blown up, rather than merely because she's a celeb..... Tarnished Disney's reputation quite a bit, I'd say. Haha
