Kate Richie: Home No More
September 26th 2007 02:07
After 20 years on Home and Away (a record at that), Kate Richie this morning announced that she has quit her role as Sally Fletcher.
Fear not fans of the Gold Logie winner as she will continue filming scenes on the soap drama until the end of the year and expected to be on our screens until March next year.
On her decision to leave, she stated "The time is right. It's been an emotional decision and a long road to come to this decision but there's no kind of hidden agenda".
Kate hopes to get out there and do things she says she missed out on like travelling and just having a holiday.
With recent gigs in radio and It Takes Two, i am sure there will be no shortage of job offers if and when she decides to return to the industry.
With Kates' departure, Ray Meagher (Alf Stewart) will be the only original cast member left from when the show first aired and will be the longest continious acting role in Australian record.
