Tears for Michael Jackson

July 8th 2009 03:45

Today the world had the chance to farewell Michael Jackson with a special memorial held at Staples Centre in LA.

Family and friends as well as 17,000 fans packed out the centre while millions more watched around the world.

Whether you are a fan or not, it's hard not to be touched by the tributes and i must admit when daddy's little girl Paris Katherine took to the stage, i bawled.

In mourning Michael we forget that it is his children who have been hit the hardest. I don't care whether or not he was their biological father or not, to those kids, he is the only father they have ever known.

Others who paid tributes included Brooke Shields, Martin Luther King III, Bernice King, Magic Johnson, Koby Bryant. Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Usher, Jennifer Hudson and Mariah were some of the stars to sing as well as Michael's brother Jermaine who sang Michael's favourite song 'Smile' by Charlie Chaplin.

Michael's 14 carat casket was then carried out but his finally resting place will not be known.

TomKat Touch Down in Melbourne

July 1st 2009 02:50

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes touched down at Essendon airport in Melbourne just after midday on Tuesday.

Arriving on their private jet, paparazzi and media struggled to get the pictures they wanted as the star couple and their gorgeous daughter Suri, were hurried into a waiting four wheel drive.
They were then driven in covoy to the Crowne Casino in Melbourne CBD where they will be living in the penthouse provided by good friend James Packer.

Mr Packer has reportedly given Cruise and his family, including daughter Suri, use of the penthouse during the filming of Holmes' latest movie Down Under.

Holmes' film, a remake of a 1973 TV horror movie Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark, will be shot at Docklands in Melbourne.
