It is official - Gretel Killeen has been 'evicted' and will not be returning in 2008 as host of the controversial show Big Brother.
After 7 years, it is reported that Gretel decided to leave to pursue other avenues including her first film "I'm really proud of what we've achieved but I now have the seven-year itch and am busting to get on with a million new things, including my first feature film, which we're shooting in the new year."
However, rumours circulating suggested that the host was shafted folllowing poor ratings of the reality show and TEN are looking at a revamp for the new season.
Early reports suggested that Mikle Goldman (Friday Night Live) and Natalie Bassingwaithe (Rogue Traders) were to take over the hosting duties but now that proved incorrect as Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O have been named as the replacements.
Sandilands — a 2002 Celebrity Big Brother contestant whose intruder role this year was cut short by a migraine — has vowed the house "won't be full of 20-something losers".
"I would like the old grumpy man that hates loud noise and hates young people in there," he told the Sunday Telegraph.
Co-host Jackie O agreed with the call for a new direction.
"I would like to see them shake it up, especially with the contestants because I think everybody is sick of the same old contestants going in," she said.
